Just a quick preview of my design final, this is my photography with one of my favorite quotes. The photo is made to look like a polaroid.

Frankenstein Project

For my "Frankenstein" project, I used photoshop to create this figure. I started with Robert Downey Jr.'s head because he is my all time favorite actor. On his face, I added shadow to the right side of his face to create some mystery. I also changed his eye color to a bright blue and added scars under his right eye and on his right eye brow. I changed his hair color to a lighter brown. For the arms, I used a picture I found of Michelle Obama and cropped out the rest of her body. I changed the color of her arms and the color of Robert's face to make them match and look like they belonged to the same person. For the chest, I used a gorilla body and put in some chains around the neck. I used jeans and sneakers for the legs and had to brighten the outer line of them to make them stand out from the background. I also added some darker shading in between his legs and under his feet. Next, I put in the forest background and colorized it so that the figure stood out more. I also made the figure a little bit smaller to look like it was actually in the frame. I erased some of the leg and right hand so that it looked like there were some objects in the picture's background that were in the foreground and to make it more realistic. Lastly, I put in the surf board for my figure to appear to be on. This was an easy way to make the image be slightly more weird :) and to get around manipulating the feet to look like they were standing on the rock. Enjoy! (:

Tile Pattern

I used the complementary colors, blue and orange, for my color scheme. I started off with a light blue background and changed the opacity so that it would peek through but not disturb the foreground and middle ground of my design. In the middle, I live traced an aztec design and was able to change the opacity of different shapes in order to emphasize the middle parts that I wanted to show the most. Behind the focus of the aztec, I put an orange triangle in order to make the blue and orange vibrant. In the foreground, I put lines that match up on every side that were pointing up and changing between different shades of blue and orange which had different spacing as they moved up the page.

Distorted

White on Black

This image works because there are the two colors, white and black but the image has a good mix up of these two colors. The polka dots in the background work really well with the image because they make the image pop and better as far as being able to see. The cursive script I used in the writing works well because it creates a calm feeling in contrast to all the confusion in the backdrop.

Camouflage

This image works for "camouflage" because usually when someone says camouflage, you think of blending in or woodsy colors. So, the camouflage I used in the background is made up of forest colors and the words are the same opacity as the background so they blend in and are hard to find and pick out.

Stable

This image is "stable" because it has the jumbled letters that are looking like they are going to fall or topple over, but they are being held up and STABLE by the bold, black word stable on the bottom.

Quiet

This image represents the word "quiet" well because it has the calming colors in the background with the teal and light yellow. It also has the fading out gradient in the back drop which is a quiet effect because it is slowly fading out rather than rapidly which would create energy that is loud. The gradient is also applied in the text and slowly fades out, using opacity. This creates a quiet affect as well. Finally, the words go from large to small as they progress across and down the page.

Loud

This image looks loud because the background of the gradient looks explosive which is shown by the colors of fire. Secondly, there are really small words in the background that are being overpowered by the "loudness" of the word "LOUD" in bold black over the entire image. Finally, the small words in the background are repetitive and contrast with the bold top layer.

Implied

Active

This design looks "active" because the colors are vibrant and electric against the black background, the words are floating around the page and make your eyes wander with them, and the colors are the main colors on the color wheel and also the colors of the rainbow so they are relatable.

Bag Design Break Down

My bag design relates to the meaning of my logo on the front because it is my logo but with a colorful backdrop. While looking up photos and ideas to use for my bag, I found a picture of a gorgeous sunset behind a field of wheat and thought it was a good idea so in my back drop of the front, I used the colors of a sunset, red, yellow, and orange. I added some green to the mix as well to create a mix between warm and cool colors. On the sides, I incorporated the same colors and on the back, I had the bottom part of my design upside down and looking like it is pouring out the grain that was used to make it. I used a few colors that were from the front and sides of the bag in what the loaf was pouring out to make the back be a part of the front design. I had most of my surprises on the back of the bag with the gray I used in contrast to the vibrant colors everywhere else. I also put some common shapes that people can identify (stars) within the grain on the back that was raining out. The best part of my design, I think, is the loaf logo itself because it is surrounded by a glowing circular shape, which causes emphasis.

Loaf Logo Large

This logo is made to represent loaf. I think it does do a very good job of this because of the wheat/grain that seemingly grows out of the bread-like (loaf) shape that is tipped upside down to look like a bowl (bread bowl).
